I don’t think anyone is saying that what he said to Taylor was a racist comment, they’re just saying that his actions and words over the past few years have shown him to be racist. However, I think that if it was flipped around, Beyonce won that award, and somebody like Justin Timberlake went up on stage and said “Taylor Swift’s video was one of the best all time!” then he would be called racist. It’s an unfair standard, a lot of people don’t realize it’s completely possible for somebody to be racist against white people.
I am glad to hear that Taylor’s mother stood up to Kanye! I don’t really care that he apologized, because there’s no way to know if he was truly sorry, or if he only apologized because he realized everyone hated him because what he said.
