Bling it On

Last month’s spat over shoes between Miranda Kerr and Orlando Bloom?  Turns out, it may have been a symptom of pre-engagement jitters . . . and Orlando’s fear of a whopping credit card bill. The pair just got engaged, and Miranda’s 3-4 carat ring is estimated to cost $65,000. Try not to think about how many Manolos your ring could have bought, Miranda! It’s called a long-term investment.

Scene & Heard

I’m very family-oriented, so I at least want a boy and a girl and I just want them to be involved in sports, and respect elderly people, like myself, when they’re little.” – Snooki on her plans to raise children who show some respect. Maybe she should sit them down in front of old Jersey Shore episodes so they can see how it’s done. The subtitle of that show is “How to act like a lady or a gentleman,” right?

Mix and Match

One got married, one went solo, and one can communicate telepathically with his girlfriend. The Jonas Brothers are all growing up—and thankfully, the days when they’d walk down the red carpet looking like matchy-matchy triplets are long gone.  At the Kids Choice Awards, Kevin, Joe, and Nick each looked fine in their own unique way.  So now you get to choose. Which Jo-Bro looked the hottest?

A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words

Katy Perry’s sequined leotard and dramatic eye makeup  make me wonder: do she and Johnny Weir share a stylist?

Joe and Demi’s Deep Connection

Twitter, BBM, GChat . . . All unnecessary for Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas, who claim they can read each other’s thoughts. Are they leaving Disney for the Psychic Friends network?

Lose It: The Lumberjack Look

Poor Tobey Maguire. When he’s not sporting superhero spandex, he has no idea how to dress himself. Tobey, a tip: when you look like an extra from the movie Brokeback Mountain, you’re not ready for the red carpet.

Go Wilde or Stay Home

If Olivia Wilde makes an Oscar appearance this year, the fashion gods will be watching. The beaded silver Gucci gown she rocked on Golden Globe night is nearly impossible to top—and, frankly, Hollywood’s fashion-impaired will be lucky if TV’s sexiest doc stays home.

Fergaliciousness

Stacy Ferguson looked foxy, foxy in this periwinkle chiffon Elie Saab gown at the Golden Globes, and I’m hoping she can spice up the Oscars in something even more Glamorous.  My Fergie Ferg wish for Oscar night is this: May she look like a ten when her co-star, Penelope Cruz, wins for Nine.

One to Watch

Fresh from her Golden Globe win in this chic Atelier Versace gown, Drew Barrymore may be glowing brighter than Oscar himself on Sunday night. Whether she’s a DO or an OH, NO, SHE DIDN’T, Drew already has what she hoped for this year. So what’s left to wish for?

Have fun, Drew. I’ll be watching.

Red Carpet Gold

At the Golden Globes this year, True Blood‘s Anna Paquin was Anna Sequin in this stunning gold Stella McCartney gown. Confession: If I owned this dress and the vintage Stephen Russell jewelry that goes with it, I’d make an Oscar night appearance myself.
